Future of Fishermen in the Hands of the Court. The Supreme Court may upend one of its most controversial precedents in 2023 thanks to the Cause of Action Institute, which has taken on the case of New Jersey fishermen who federal regulators are targeting with an unlawful fee scheme that would force them to surrender 20% of their pay to mandated third-party monitors. Cause of Action argues the Supreme Court should overrule the controversial Chevron doctrine that has allowed government regulators to bypass Congress and upset the Constitutional balance of powers for decades.
